DON'T MISS ETHAN CANIN THIS WEEKEND - PLUS HE'S READING WITH PO BRONSON AT
THIS SATURDAY'S PROGRESSIVE READING SERIES

Grotto Co-Founder Ethan Canin is in town this Friday and Saturday to read
from his new book "America, America." Please come out and join him.

This Friday, July 18th Night at Bookshop West Portal (80 West Portal
Avenue),
Ethan will be reading at 7:00 pm. The wine and cheese reception sponsored
by the Grotto will take place both before the reading (starting at 6:30 pm)
and after. The reception is open to everyone.

On Saturday night, Ethan will be headlining the Progressive Reading Series
at 7 pm at The Makeout Room, 3225 22nd Street. $10-20 sliding scale. Also
reading that night will be Grotto co-founder Po Bronson. The event is hosted
by the Grotto's Stephen Elliot, and is a literary benefit to support
progressive congressional candidates nationwide.

JOSH A DADDY TO THE LOVELY VIVIAN MCHUGH

On June 16th, Grottoite Josh McHugh beamed, "Margaret gave birth to a little
girl at 10 this morning. Vivian weighs 7 lbs, 2.5 oz and stands 20.5 inches
tall. She loves heat lamps, sleeping and mother's milk."

Huge congratulations to Josh and Margaret!
