Description: This class provides writing students access to some of the most acclaimed and experienced writers the Bay Area has to offer, in an intimate setting around a large table. Learn about things they’re too polite to talk about in bookstore readings. What do they really think about the future of publishing? What is their writer’s Achilles tendon – their biggest weakness? What was the highest point of their career – and the lowest? What are the pluses and minuses of working within the traditional publishing world, or striking out on one’s own? Authors will discuss craft tips, breaking into the business, their writing routine – and offer advice to you, the student.
Instructor Bio: Jane Austen is the author of several diverting textual amusements, including Sense and Sensibility and Emma.
