Description: Learn how to write a mystery with acclaimed author Cara Black. In this one-day class, we’ll explore the different mystery genres and discuss the importance of: plot, characters, suspects, dialogue, clues, villains, red herrings, pacing, McGuffins and do an exercise on setting.
This class is appropriate for those just beginning their mysterys – and for writers in the process of revision.
Instructor bio: Cara Black writes the bestselling and award nominated Aimée Leduc Investigations set in Paris. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, a former bookseller and son. Her books have been translated into seven languages. She’s a San Francisco Library Laureate, members of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime and the Marais Historic Society in Paris.
