Description: Each week in this workshop-only class, we’ll give in-depth feedback on two student stories handed out the previous week. Students will get an hour of discussion on their story and receive margin comments and a feedback note from classmates and the instructor. Topics will be discussed as they come up in relation to the work (such as pacing, setting, voice, believability, use of flashback, etc.), but this is not a lecture class – it’s a hands-on workshop designed to help students generate new work and get thoughtful insights and responses as they bring their stories to final drafts. This workshop is open to students who have taken “The Pang in Your Heart” Short Story Intensive at the Grotto, or by application with a writing sample.
