Description: Whether you’re published or not, you need to build your author platform. But how? Do you need a website? A blog? What should you blog about? How do you build traffic, and how do you make your blog stand out among the millions of other writer blogs out there? What about Twitter? And Facebook? And Google+? How can you integrate these tools with your blog to build your personal brand? And when in God’s name will you find time to balance all this social media stuff with a job and a family and … writing?

This course will cover: designing your social media strategy, starting a blog, best blogging practices (including video blogging and podcasts), and how to build and maintain your blog readership. We’ll also talk about why you need Twitter, best tweeting practices, and how to increase your number of Twitter followers. We’ll discuss Facebook personal vs fan pages, how to integrate your Twitter account and Facebook page with your blog, and whether you need to be on Google+. We’ll discuss privacy issues, time management, and most important of all, having fun while building your personal brand.
